The Loft Bed is a simple, elegant, and modern piece, and it also happens to be one of the founding designs of our company. We've been making the bed since 2008, when we were commissioned to dream up a bedroom set for a loft space in the 1310 East Union building designed by The Miller Hull Partnership. We worked with clients on designing a bed that would look great in the raw/open loft space, while providing storage to minimize the clutter. The result was the Loft Bed and Loft Side Tables.
Hand-built from stunningly beautiful solid wood with steel details, this piece is understated in its form - highlighting the grain, color, and texture of the materials we work with. The bed features four drawers with soft-closing/self-closing hardware for fluid action, and a storage cubby on each side. Constructed with expert craftsmanship and attention to detail, this piece is wonderful addition to spare rooms in need of a little extra storage.
When you place an order for this or any of our beds, we will work with you to make sure the mattress and any coordinating side tables work together seamlessly. We provide drawings for each client showing their mattress in place prior to making the piece, and can fine tune any details necessary to optimize the functionality.
If you're interested in ordering the Twin XL size, please note that there are three available versions: Twin XL-A has two drawers and a cubby on the left side of the bed and a single cubby on the right; Twin XL-B has two drawers and a cubby on the right side of the bed and single cubby on the left. When determining which side you want the drawers on (selecting between A and B), imagine standing at the footboard and looking towards the headboard. The Twin XL 4-Drawer is designed like the larger-size beds, with two drawers and a cubby on each side (four drawers total).
The bed is pictured in solid walnut with steel brackets (charcoal finish). Because we hand-build all of our furniture, each piece has the mark of a hand-made object, and unique characteristics inherent to the natural beauty and variation of real materials.
